It’s Official: I’m Launching a Let’s Play Channel!

It’s all in the title.

I am starting my very own Let’s Play channel entitled PaperBearPlays.

Now, maybe you don’t know what a Let’s Play is, and I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t—it’s an odd offshot community unknown to those without a stake in gaming.

Let’s Plays are videos in which, to put it simply, a person plays a game while commentating over it and engaging with a community of people who’ve come to enjoy it.

Again, without some stake in this form of content—whether it be yours or someone you know’s—it’s hard to understand the appeal, but the appeal is actually pretty simple: there’s an innate desire in all of us, when we love something, to seek it out and consume more of it, to find things that we love, that made us fall in love with it in the first place, and watch how others are reacting to it too, as if it were the first time all over again.

It’s true for sports, or for cars, or for cooking—anything; there’s something to love about watching someone love it too.

That’s what this is. That’s what these are: an opportunity to dig back into games you loved, or maybe haven’t gotten to love yet, and see them through the eyes of someone else.

I’ll be posting new games and old games, snippets and full playthroughs everyday or every other day (depending on my schedule). I’ll give commentary about where these games fit into my life, what I think, and, if I’ve never played one before, how I land on it.

Most of the time it’ll be just me, but I’ll occasionally have friends on for the general schnanigans you can’t do alone.

The link to it is:

And if you like what you see, tell your friends, subscribe, and tell them to subscribe! I promise it won’t disappoint.

P.S. There will also be a new tab up at the top for the YouTube channel. Easy access! Woo.
