If you missed it, I put up a bit of an announcement post the other day that Lined Paper Lamppost, the webcomic I’ve been working on for the past couple of years, will be ending today, but since that decision was a kind of sudden development and the plans to do so weren’t for a long time anticipated, I have a few pages I would like to still share, in varying stages of completion, as well as some of the ideas I had for the webcomic had it stuck around as long as I’d originally intended. It was at some point during middle school that I got really into the idea of webcomics. It wasn’t the fact that the ones I frequented were all that incredible but rather the idea that someone, anyone, me for instance, could, with any level of artistic ability, create a comic and publish it online that pulled me in completely. When I first launched my webcomic Lined Paper Lamppost, I was filled with a lot of things: anxiety, excitement, gas (probably) and in the days that followed, I wasn’t able to have the best perspective on how the comic was doing or would do since I simply wanted to release it–not to mention the fact that looking back on something so recently released doesn’t allow you a wide enough time frame for proper analyzation. So! I’m going to do that here. Lined Paper Lamppost, it’s been two and half months since its release–how is it doing? (more…)
It has finally happened! After over a year of working on this webcomic project, the day has come for it to be released into the world! The link you can go to find it is both right here (at lplthecomic.com) and behind the “Lined Paper Lamppost” link, which you will find in the top menu.
Check it out. Like it, comment on it, reblog it, share it, print it out and mail it by carrier pigeon to your aunt on that island in the south Pacific. It’s going to be a long journey so follow along with me.
As was announced last week, Lined Paper Lamppost was supposed to be launching today, in all of its cartoony, artistic glory. But that didn’t happen.
There were a couple things I didn’t account for when I set that release date a couple of weeks back and, so the comic is at its best when it launches, I’ve had to move the release date back. The fortunate thing about this news is that the push back is really only a nudge–it’s only been moved back a week, so now, the official (and permanent) release date for my webcomic is April 14!
Thank you for your patience, I apologize for the inconvenience, but I’m super excited to get this out there.
If you’ve been in, at least, some way observant toward my blog since it began last August, you will have noticed a lonely page along the top row of links titled, “Lined Paper Lamppost.” And if you were even further observant, enough so to click on the link, read the brief and the little image that sits there, then you would know that “Lined Paper Lamppost” is actually a webcomic that I’ve been working on publishing for a while now. And the exciting news here in regards to that comic is that, if everything goes according to plan, it will be released later this month after over a year of work. (more…)
